The Summer of my Life!

whoa! it's been SO long since i've updated my blog. So much has been going on. Well as most of you know I spent my summer back east in Pennsylvania working at a summer camp just 40 minutes north of Scranton. It was probably the best thing i have ever done and hope i get the chance to do it again next year! My kids were 11 and 12 years old and were so much fun. Most of them were from Long Island, NY which is a very wealthy area. Let's just say they don't worry about money. LOADED! So I worked there for 2 months before heading off to NYC for a few days with all the councelors that I had made friends with and become so close with. NYC is probably the most fun place I have ever been in my life. I loved it. I can't think of a single thing that I would change about it. I spent time just walking around the city and soaking it all in. Walks around the villiage, Soho, NYU, Union Square, the Financial District, Ground Zero, Statue of Liberty, etc. It was an amazing trip and I fell in love with that amazing city. I can't wait to go back!
Well after NYC, my girlfriend and I travelled back to Portland, OR where we spent a day with her parents in Longview before driving her car to Bend to my parents house and packing up all our stuff and leaving the next day. It took 19 hours to drive my 1975 truck those 600 miles.... talk about miserable. But it made it and now I have a truck to drive!
The next day my parents and I boarded a plane in SLC to St. Louis on our way to Nauvoo. Nauvoo is beautiful. It was so interesting to see the history of those people and know that my ancestors lived there. Talk about cool.
When we arrived back in Utah, I moved into my apartment only to find that they next day I would take off for the annual Orton Family Reunion! My parents and sisters with their husbands went out to eastern Utah and rented a cabin to spend 2-3 days in. It was so fun to be together and just hang out. After the exciting weekend, I came back to Provo to start school the next day and figure that all out. It was such a crazy busy summer but I wouldn't have changed anything.
The Summer of my Life.
